    This 1 day course is designed for practicing electricians who are looking to gain knowledge of designing and commissioning emergency lighting systems and all relevant documents that are applicable to BS 5266/EN 1838/BS EN 50172. There are no formal entry requirements to attend this course.

    WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

    This course is aimed at contractors  and individuals looking to gain an understanding of emergency lighting systems, both legislation and basic design requirements. 

    LEARNING OUTCOMES

    The course will provide delegates with an understanding of emergency lighting system compliance with BS 5266/EN 1838/BS EN 50172, plus the relevant legislation required. Delegates will gain an understanding of system types, the different functions of emergency lighting, product compliance and locations of luminaires.

    Delegates will also learn:

    • The legal requirements

    • Risk assessments

    • Designing to save lives

    • Completing emergency lighting certificates

    • Approved Document B and Approved Document M

    • The Disability Discrimination Act Regulatory Reform

    There are no formal entry requirements to attend the course, however it is ideally suited to practicing electricians or individuals who wish to proceed to the design and/or maintenance module.
