This qualification covers the full content of BS 5839-1, Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems for Buildings. BS 5839 Part 1 provides information for the planning, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems for non-domestic premises.

Who should attend?

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however those attending should be familiar with electrical systems. This qualification is aimed at engineers who are working in the fire-sector as well as those who design or specify fire alarm and detection systems and wish to update or refresh their understanding of BS 5839-1. It may also be useful to electricians and electrical contracting businesses looking to gain an understanding of the recommendations of BS 5839-1.
